Make your own protein pancakes with banana
Protein pancakes are a tasty and nutritious option for a high-protein breakfast or snack. Here is an easy recipe to make protein pancakes.
Ingredients for protein pancakes
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 eggs
- 1 scoop of protein powder of your choice (e.g. vanilla, chocolate, strawberry)
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (for fluffier pancakes)
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract for extra flavor
- Optional: toppings such as fresh berries, banana slices, nuts, honey, maple syrup, etc.
Instructions and preparation for making the protein pancakes
- Mash the ripe banana in a bowl with a fork until it becomes a smooth puree.
- Add the eggs to the bowl and mix well with the banana puree until well combined.
- Add the protein powder to the mixture and stir well to avoid lumps. If you choose to add baking powder, add it now as well.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add some oil or butter to prevent sticking.
- Spoon the batter into the pan to make small pancakes, or larger ones if you prefer. Keep in mind that protein pancakes can be thicker than regular pancakes.
- Cook the pancakes on each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Repeat the previous step until all the batter is used up. This recipe usually makes about 4-6 pancakes depending on size.
- Serve the protein pancakes warm and garnish with your favorite toppings, such as fresh berries, banana slices, nuts, honey or maple syrup.
Enjoy your homemade protein pancakes as a delicious and nutritious meal!
